Carrying out industrial work without elevated platforms seems nearly impossible. Though these elevated platforms serve as a source of great convenience, they can be the cause of serious injuries too. Ensuring workers’ safety is the responsibility of the employer. It is the duty of the employer to ensure workers are provided with adequate training with regards to using the elevated platform and its fall protection system. The responsibility of appointing a competent and sensible individual as the supervisor too falls on the shoulders of the employer. It is the duty of the employer to take every possible reasonable precaution to ensure the safety and protection of the employees.
The supervisor has to ensure the employees work in compliance with the safety regulations, make use of protective procedures, measures and devices while using industrial work platforms. Other than this, the supervisor must take every precaution possible under the circumstance to ensure worker safety.
Workers must at all times, work in compliance with the safety regulations. They must abide by the instructions of their supervisors and make use of protective wear, devices or equipment that is provided to them. They must avoid not using these and thereby endangering themselves as well as other workers.
It is only through the collective effort of all parties that injuries and unfortunate incidents can be avoided.
